That son of a bitch! Ahem, sorry, shouldn't curse. I know him only a little; I believe he ran for the Fayren Guardian position last term. Why in the world they don't put potential Guardians through some sort of psych screening is beyond me. He seemed calm and poised then; a titch arrogant. His responses weren't especially interesting.

Hello Ted, This is Lucy, of Fairy Tail. I know you didn't win the election this term, but I thought I'd bring up something you should probably know if you intend to run for that city guardian or any other next term. It concerns the Everglade barrier. During the incident when Vlad was trying to bring down Everglade's spirit, I was told - by Everglade's spirit - something interested that I just recently remembered. I already brought this up with Fai in a letter earlier, so it's only fair to make you aware as well. If you recall the incident when Everglade's barrier weakened half a year ago, and all of those spirits came pouring in, you remember it was ..very difficult to get the barrier repaired. I spoke witih Genessia and Everglade's spirits back then, and I was told that Everglade's barrier is powered by fear - I'm not sure if the barrier weakened because people stopped being afraid, but - in the interest of keeping the people safe, it's something to keep in mind. The barriers of the other cities may be powered similarly by emotions, though obviously, that it's fear is very unlikely.

She doesn't entirely know how to feel about the vigilante part, but from what she knows of him... Some of the horrid things people have been saying are things she can't believe of him. Not with how genuinely nice he was toward her, a stranger with even stranger eyes.]

[His heart melted to hear her. Most people he met for the first time were content to leave it at that, if not disappear altogether. To have one check up on him purely out of concern was an utter novelty. He was clearly smiling by his tone.]

Heh, your worry is duly appreciated, if a bit unnecessary. You're really too kind. While trouble regularly finds me--or I find it--this bout of it is something I've already worked out. We'll get the better of that bounty, mark my words.

Enclosed is a book on meanings of names, that's ridiculously thick and a small log, decorated with sprigs of mistletoe and pine needles, a subtle dig at his religious post, shot back with something familiar to Demyx.

He's also included a package of holiday sugar cookies. No, he didn't make them, they are edible. And a note:]

'Merry Christmas Ted. Look forward to a water trick on your birthday whenever it is, it's too cold to do it now. - Demyx.'
