['Burn it at once'? That is such a curious suggestion that Satsuki really has little choice but to add the ID to her device and gives it a call once she goes back to the porch. Someone had better pick up.]
Bring bring! This would be Ted's first call since he arrived in Genessia.
Another Christmas miracle. He stepped to a quieter place in the party, then
answered: "Hello?"
"Ha! Take that, white-haired naysayer!" Don't mind him, Satsuki. He's just congratulating himself on exceeding Weiss' withering ways; never mind that he was spurred on partly due to her advice.
"Mm, sorry. Well, I'm glad you like it. I hope your praise will remain once you read it. Oh! I'm Ted. Pleasure to...listen to you as well." What is it with him forgetting introductions all the time? He wasn't used to using to using a phone regularly, and was missing the video feature. "Do you mind if we see face-to-face? Or better yet, meet somewhere?" Ted didn't really have anything in mind for a meeting, but the more personal, the better.
White-haired naysayer huh? Ok. The name Ted doesn't ring a bell but the more she listens, the more she recognizes the voice. The one who expressed what he was thankful for not too long ago.
"Assuming you're still at the housewarming, I am out on the deck. But it will have to be brief since I will not be here for long."
Difficult enough for poor Ted. The whole party was noisy enough to block out her argument, so Ted, per usual, was blissfully unaware of her trouble. "Ah, so you assent to a face-to-face. I'll be there shortly."
*patpatpatpatpat*
His face was red from running through the snow. He took a moment to catch his breath and get a good look. His face curled into an almost laugh. She looked teenage...ish? That austere countenance definitely added a few years. It was like a girl Mewtwo. For someone who'd been to a housewarming, it seemed to have done little for that face.
"The Nova City Guardian, if I remember correctly. In the flesh! How are you?"
She's nothing but patient as he takes a moment to catch his breath.
"That is correct." Satsuki replies as she eyes flick, quickly sizing him up. She assumes he's amused simply because he came from a party, so no insult taken there.
"Well enough; there are worse ways to end the year. Are you a.. Minstrel?" she adds with a quirked brow.
Worse ways...? Not exactly a note of festivity, he took it. Speaking of notes.
"Ha! Sadly, for me those went away centuries ago. But you're close; a dancer by trade, as of a few months ago. I briefly considered sending you tickets to the holiday performance, but on reflection, that seemed a tad vain. But if you're asking to go caroling..."
Not even half a second passes when he finished his sentence when she replies, "I am asking no such thing."
Stone. Cold.
"The book decision was the wiser decision. However you have captured my interest- What sort of danceing would one view in this performance?" The Guardian doesn't often partake in recreational activities, but attending something like an opera or ballet once in a while couldn't be so bad. In fact it could be quite relaxing.
"Darn, I'm sure you have an interesting singing voice. Ballet! I'm but an
apprentice, so I won't be performing on stage. Still, they are very
skilled."
Satsuki might, she doesn't know what kind of singing voice she has herself. She's better trained at yelling, see.
"Is that right; I'd like to see with my own eyes then. Where would I be able to purchase tickets?" No offense to Ted but she wouldn't want to buy them directly from him. She'd rather not make it obvious when she would make a show either.
"I'll send you the address of the building; it's in the city proper, like everything else. Or maybe you can order them in line? Ah, but it's so much better to do things in person. Even if it is uncomfortable at times." He shivered. "Well, I won't keep you outside like this. Thank you for deigning to meet me. Merry Christmas!"
[ Excuse him while he gets caught up on current events. *Jeopardy music*]
That son of a bitch! Ahem, sorry, shouldn't curse. I know him only a little; I believe he ran for the Fayren Guardian position last term. Why in the world they don't put potential Guardians through some sort of psych screening is beyond me. He seemed calm and poised then; a titch arrogant. His responses weren't especially interesting.
In hell, obviously. On this side of the sky, however...hmm, let's see if he's opened an archway. *beep boops for a minute*
Oh, that's useful. There's a listing for all the ones available right now. The "Babylon Treasure House". That's as likely a place as any to find him, I suppose. Though even he probably isn't so stupid as to remain where any could find.
[ (OOC presumably this came a day after elections - I've been busy and only got around to sending this to Fai @.@ sorry!) ]
[ IC: Lucy's opinion of the former Guardian aside, there's a chance he might win next term and in that case, he should be made aware of this also. ]
Hello Ted, This is Lucy, of Fairy Tail. I know you didn't win the election this term, but I thought I'd bring up something you should probably know if you intend to run for that city guardian or any other next term. It concerns the Everglade barrier. During the incident when Vlad was trying to bring down Everglade's spirit, I was told - by Everglade's spirit - something interested that I just recently remembered. I already brought this up with Fai in a letter earlier, so it's only fair to make you aware as well. If you recall the incident when Everglade's barrier weakened half a year ago, and all of those spirits came pouring in, you remember it was ..very difficult to get the barrier repaired. I spoke witih Genessia and Everglade's spirits back then, and I was told that Everglade's barrier is powered by fear - I'm not sure if the barrier weakened because people stopped being afraid, but - in the interest of keeping the people safe, it's something to keep in mind. The barriers of the other cities may be powered similarly by emotions, though obviously, that it's fear is very unlikely.
[IC: That's unnerving. Looks like his romantic intuition had figured out some integral part of the world before he ever knew about the spirits, what with his "city of fear" speech. Uncanny. The letter is cordial, anyway; maybe she's softened a bit.]
So Dracula wasn't lying when he brought that up. That's disquieting. Well, thank you for bringing that to my attention. May you enjoy the rest of the year.
[He wouldn't have figured Namur for the Nova City type. Then again, that is the place where alien-looking guys wouldn't face much scrutiny.]
All right, I'll make haste!
[He's there faster than enthusiasm can adequately explain. He vow next time to use the window, for novelty's sake. It'd be good vigilante practice. He raps on the door with equal aplomb.]

I find it particularly impressive considering it is from someone I do not believe I have had the pleasure of meeting. You have done your homework.
[And she likes that. But seriously, who is this?]
