[Can't we get even more merrier in the spirit of Christmas? First the caroling. Then the gift-giving.
Abel took out of his coat pockets, a white envelope, which contains this card, which is pretty generic and sold in most stores, with a message, "Wishing you peace, joy, and happiness for Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year" printed inside with his signature handwriting.
Along with it, it's a wrapped present around a box. Inside the box, should Ted discover later, it's a silver Saint Christopher medallion. A saint who is said to protect travelers and children.]
[Ted never lost his love of stuff, no matter how much he got. His
eyes sparkle as he scans his gifts, loving the three magi picture and
goodwill therein. He doesn't wait to dig into the box, asking who it
signified. He's happy to find out.]
"Saint Christopher! Ah, the one with the fearsome face, ferrying imperiled
travelers like some angelic Charon. Sought to serve the greatest king, only
to find himself unwittingly carrying the One who made the world. Thank you;
where did you get it, if you don't mind looking a gift medallion in the
mouth? Ah, suppose I ought to get you something too. Let's see..."
[Ted fished in his bag for something suitable, producing the book of
hagiography he quoted from a while back.] "Well, so long as we're
about saints, how about this? I recall you saying you never had much time
to do reading on all these wonderful Catholics; ought to give you something
to do should you find yourself bedridden again."
"Hah, it suits me just fine! Though I wonder if it's possible for a man to wear too many necklaces? Ah, two won't hurt, I suppose. And I'm glad you've time to pore through the catcheisms; tell me when you finish the Summa; I'll see if you can make better heads of it than I can. Goodness, isn't Aquinas an intelligent doctor? Pity that makes him that much more complex. Ah well, can't be helped. Ah, but I'm sure we've both others to attend to in gift-giving. Merry Christmas, Abel, and thanks again!"
[Full of cheer, he happily waves and bids farewell, affixing the necklace as he goes.]

"I found it while I was out shopping so it's brand new, and I thought it would suit you."
[Smiling again, as he take his book with gratitude and enthusiasm, very much pleased with the gift exchange.]
"I have more time to read and study now, so...wow, I appreciate this. Thank you very much Ted. I'll read it and study it, for sure."
